Bournemouth have signed goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Chelsea for £10 million.
Begovic endured a difficult season for Chelsea, making only eight appearances in all competitions for the Blues as he was unable to replace Thibaut Courtois in the starting line-up.Â
Bournemouth had previously tried to signed Begovic in the winter transfer window back in January but Chelsea was unwilling to let him go, according to the Daily Mail.
The 29-year-old put pen to paper a long-term deal after Bournemouth and Chelsea agreed on a  £10 million fee. It will be a return to the club for Begovic as the Bosnian goalkeeper played for Bournemouth on loan from Portsmouth in 2007, making eight appearances, back when The Cherries were playing in the third-tier of English football.
Begovic moved to Chelsea from Stoke for £8 million after a string of impressive performances. However, he found chances hard to come by, playing second-fiddle to the Belgian Courtois for most of his tenure at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Bournemouth's official site after signing for them, Begovic was quoted by Sky Sports as saying: "AFC Bournemouth is an exciting, ambitious club which has everything in place for a very bright future."Â
"Being part of a title-winning team at Chelsea was amazing but I felt now was the right time to move on, because I want to be playing regular football."
