Antonio Conte slams Jose Mourinho for focusing on Chelsea

19 October 2017 - 06:07

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has urged Jose Mourinho to 'look at himself' rather than focusing on the injury concerns of his fellow rivals.

  • Serie A striker wants to join Arsenal or Chelsea
  • Mikel Arteta confirms double fitness blow for Man Utd game

  • The Blues, who are already without N'Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses through injury, saw both David Luiz and Tiemoue Bakayoko suffer minor knocks in the 3-3 Champions League draw versus AS Roma on Wednesday night.

Manchester United head coach Mourinho recently aimed a subtle dig at his former employers by citing that they always 'cry and cry and cry' about injuries, and this has not gone well with Conte.

Speaking following the Roma draw, Conte hit back at the former Blues coach by citing that the 54-year-old should look at his own team rather than commenting on his close competitors.

"A lot of time Mourinho has to see what happens at Chelsea," Conte said, as per BBC Sport. "A lot of time, also last season, I think he has to think about his team and stop, to look at himself, not the others."

Chelsea have endured a tough spell in the Premier League this campaign, and they are already nine points adrift of table-toppers Manchester City, who are unbeaten to date.

The reigning champions entertain high-flying Watford in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off, and Conte will hope that both Luiz and Bakayoko overcome their minor niggles.
