Everton are reportedly weighing up an attempt to sign Luke Shaw, who has seemingly fallen out-of-favour under Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

  • The England international has played second fiddle to Ashley Young at left-back for most of the season, and his future now hangs in the balance after public criticism from Mourinho.

The Portuguese tactician was not pleased with the first-half performance of Shaw against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, and his comments in the aftermath of the game have not gone well with the player's entourage.

According to ESPN, Everton manager Sam Allardyce is looking into a probable deal for Shaw, who has earmarked as a potential competitor with Leighton Baines for the left-back duties.

Shaw has earned just 15 appearances in the United shirt this term, and the club are likely to sanction his exit as he enters the final year of his contract in the summer.

The likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in the highly-rated defender, who is said to be valued at around £25m.
