Predicted Manchester United lineup (3-4-1-2) vs Chelsea, Sanchez and Lukaku start

Manchester United face-off against Chelsea in tomorrow's FA Cup final at the Wembley Stadium. The Red Devils finished their league campaign in the runner-up position and they will now be keen on ending the season with a trophy.

  • Formation: 3-4-1-2

    Lineup:

Mourinho has gone with Sergio Romero betweeen the sticks for most of the FA Cup campaign but David de Gea is likely to start in goal after earning a rest last weekend.

The Portuguese had played with a three-man central defence during the penultimate game of the season against West Ham United, and he could be tempted to go the same way with the Blues.

As such, Chris Smalling should claim his regular spot at the heart of the backline and he is likely to be accompanied by Phil Jones and Eric Bailly - both of whom have been in and out of the starting lineup this term.

Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young have been Mourinho's preferred picks for the full-back positions and this should make them favourites to slot into the right and left wing-back roles respectively.

In the midfield, Nemanja Matic is a certainty to start after having made more appearances than any other outfield player and he should take up his role alongside Paul Pogba despite the Frenchman's inconsistency.

With a 3-4-1-2 formation, Alexis Sanchez could be the player to feature in the number 10 position with the pair of Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku starting upfront.

Lukaku is an injury doubt for the game with an ankle problem but they are chances of him taking pain-killing injections to make the game. His absence, however, may witness a start for Marcus Rashford.
