10 June 2018 - 09:20

Lazio midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has said that Manchester United midfielder Nemanja is his football idol.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Serbian, 23, who has been likened to Zinedine Zidane idolizes Matic, but sees himself as a Yaya Toure kind of player.

"As for idols, I can say I have always watched and looked up to Nemanja Matic," he said, FIFA.com reports.

The Serbian who has been linked with a move to European giants Real Madrid and Manchester United has revealed that he will make a decision over his future after the World Cup in Russia.

United have acquired the services of Brazilian midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, and teenager Diogo Dalot from FC Porto.

With Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera being linked away from Old Trafford, United may consider a move for the Lazio ace.

Serbia is in group E of this year's World Cup, alongside Brazil, Switzerland and Costa Rica. Serbia coach Mladen Krstajić will be hoping Milinkovic-Savic is at his best as his side seek to make it to the round of 16.

A stellar performance from the Lazio midfielder in Russia will definitely raise his price tag when teams come knocking.
