Almunia praises Fabregas

Almunia praises Fabregas

06 March 2008 - 17:15

Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has heaped praise on fellow Spaniard Cesc Fabregas. Almunia has labelled the midfielder as if he ´plays like a veteran´. Fabregas was inspirational as the Gunners went into the quarter finals of the Champions League.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • "Cesc is only 20 but he already plays like a veteran," he said.

"We all believe in him and know he will become an Arsenal legend.

"He has the capacity, the skill and the quality to become as good a player as Kaka. But he also needs to win trophies to become a truly great player.

"I don't think it matters to Cesc in which stadium he plays or who he is against because he just enjoys his football so much. That is a fantastic mentality to have.

"But I think he particularly enjoys playing teams like Milan because they give him the capacity to play football and not every team allows him to do that.

"When Cesc is given time, it gives him the opportunity and freedom to really enjoy himself."
