Liverpool have reportedly decided to part ways with Belgian striker Divock Origi, should any club match their £20m asking price during the January transfer window.

  • The Belgian spent the previous campaign on loan at Wolfsburg and it appeared that he could be offloaded by the Reds during the 2018 summer transfer window.

However, in a surprise change of events, manager Jurgen Klopp decided to keep hold of the marksman but that has not proved beneficial for the Belgian, who has yet to make an appearance in any competition.

According to The Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside giants are now prepared to sanction the striker's sale in the New Year, should any side be willing to match their £20m valuation.

Newcastle United have strongly been linked with the striker in recent weeks but the Reds are said to maintain a strong stance of restricting another loan stint for the former Lille ace.

Origi, who has solely featured for the Under 23s this season, has netted 21 goals in 77 appearances for Liverpool since joining them from Lille in the summer of 2014.
