Eriksen linked to Real Madrid after Zidane handed a €300 million budget

13 March 2019 - 03:19

In less than 48 hours of Zinadine Zidane’s sensational appointment as a Real Madrid coach, reports have been doing grounds about the €300 million transfer kitty being handed by Florentino Perez to Zidane. Zidane has some of the best footballers on his wish list. Ranging from Neymar to Eden Hazard, the wish list is star studded.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Zidane also wants to shake the midfield and wants to look at life after Luka Modric. Luka Modric for long has partnered with Toni Kroos in Real Madrid’s marauding midfield. Zidane wishes to replace him with Christian Eriksen. Modric is 33 and soon will need to be replaced. The Danish international Eriksen looks a perfect replacement. An extremely creative midfielder who can make the team tick. He for long has been pulling the strings of Tottenham’s midfield and will be expected to do the same for Real. His awareness of the game, the style and the tempo with which he moves forward will add new dimensions to Real’s play.

Real Madrid will surely be going into the market to buy new forwards. The chances of Gareth Bale leaving the Bernabeu are strong after a series of lacklustre performances. It is also being said that he has stopped talking to most of the team-mates and has had a fall out with club captain Sergio Ramos. Spurs have been wanting a Bale return and Real are in pursuit of Eriksen. Bale could be used as a paperweight in order to lure Eriksen to Real. Spurs could allow Eriksen to leave if Bale is willing to join Spurs.
