Atletico confident of Morata stay next term

Atletico Madrid confident of keeping Chelsea striker next season

30 June 2019 - 19:10

Atletico Madrid are reportedly confident that Alvaro Morata will remain with the club next term despite Chelsea holding the option to recall him from his loan deal.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The Spain international joined the La Liga giants on an 18-month loan deal in January and he managed to contribute six goals from 17 games during the backend of the campaign.

A recent report from AS suggested that the Blues may recall Morata from his temporary stint in Madrid unless Atleti agree to pay a £50m fee for the permanent signing of the marksman next summer.

However, a fresh story from Marca has claimed that won't be the case and Atleti are relatively confident that the striker will remain at the Wanda Metropolitano for the 2019/2020 campaign.

Morata struggled to cement a regular starting role under both Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea and he has recently indicated that he has no plans of sealing a return even though Frank Lampard takes charge.
