Heskey ready to battle

Heskey ready to battle

25 March 2008 - 22:54

Wigan striker Emile Heskey is ready to help the Latics battle for Premiership safety, as the club lie five points outside of the relegation zone and are recovering from their weekend 3-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers.

  • Man Utd without four players for Bournemouth clash
  • Liam Rosenior on Enzo Fernandez's Chelsea future
  • "Being able to battle is the key and when you are in the position we are in you have to do just that," he told the Manchester Evening News. "It is tough but that's the way we have to do things.

“We don't have a Cristiano Ronaldo or anyone like that at the club to influence games. In the last few games we have battled and we have got ourselves into a reasonably good position, better than we were a couple of months ago.

"It's now so important we keep that up over the remaining seven games in order to reach the target set by the manager. I'm very happy here at Wigan and that's all I'm concentrating on right now.”
