Everton undecided over who could replace Silva

Everton undecided between two managers to replace Marco Silva

26 November 2019 - 13:41

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright have reportedly reached an impasse in deciding who would replace Marco Silva as the next head coach.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Silva's position is under serious consideration after the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Norwich City at home and there are suggestions that he could be sacked in the next 48 hours.

According to The Sun, Moshiri is said to favour the appointment of Mark Hughes as the club's next manager but Kenwright does not share the same opinion and would prefer the return of Moyes at the helm.

Hughes has been out of work since the dismissal at Southampton last year. Moyes, meanwhile, recently completed a short-term stint with West Ham United but parted ways when his contract expired at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Aside from the duo, Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta has been linked with the managerial position but Pep Guardiola has stated that his compatriot is unlikely to leave the Cityzens at the midway stage of the season.
