Arsenal to make surprise move for West Ham United forward?

03 September 2020 - 16:06

Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for West Ham United attacker Felipe Anderson this summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game

  • Anderson joined the Hammers from Lazio in the summer of 2018 and he has an impressive debut season with 10 goals and five assists across all competitions.

However, he struggled to replicate his performances in his second year with just one goal and five assists from 27 outings, and was an unused substitute towards the end of the campaign.

The Hammers are open to the prospect of offloading the Brazilian this summer and Football Insider claims that the Gunners could offer an unlikely route for the versatile attacker.

David Moyes' side are aiming to recoup the entire £36m fee paid to Lazio two years ago, but they may have to accept a lesser sum amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Gunners recently signed Willian on a free transfer to bolster the frontline, but manager Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on signing another creative attacking player ahead of next season.
