Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed a fresh injury blow following the club's Premier League win against Newcastle United.
The Gunners secured a comfortable 2-0 win over the Magpies with Mohamed Elneny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finding the net.
However, there was some disappointment with David Luiz going out injured. It was his first appearance since his knee surgery last month.
Speaking after the game, Arteta confirmed that Luiz suffered a hamstring injury, and he could be sidelined once more.
He told football.london: "He felt something in his hamstring, which is not good. It's a real shame."
The Gunners are scheduled to host Villarreal in the return leg of their Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday night.
The first leg ended in disappointment with a 2-1 defeat. They need to score at least once without conceding to progress to the final.
Luiz appears set to miss out on the encounter after the latest injury setback. Rob Holding could replace him in the central defence.
