Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could integrate William Saliba into his first-team plans for next season, football.london reports.
Saliba was expected to play a key role for the Gunners this season, but he failed to make his competitive debut before he was loaned out to Nice in January.
The Frenchman has caught the eye with his performances in Ligue 1, and they have been suggestions that he could get his chance under Arteta next term.
The Gunners are expected to lose David Luiz when his contract expires this summer, and Arteta has yet to decide over a replacement.
The Spaniard is prepared to give Saliba a fair chance during pre-season before assessing whether the club need another centre-back.
The club are likely to be busy this summer with plenty of personnel changes expected after another underwhelming league campaign.
A number of senior players including Hector Bellerin, Alexandre Lacazette, Willian could be shown the exit door this summer.
