Vlahovic to Manchester City?

Manchester City actively pursuing Tottenham Hotspur target

22 October 2021 - 21:07

Manchester City are actively pursuing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the January transfer window.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The Cityzens were touted to sign a new centre-forward over the summer and they were heavily linked with Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, a deal never materialised for Kane while Ronaldo snubbed their advances for a long-awaited reunion at Manchester United.

This has left the Cityzens with just one specialist striker in Gabriel Jesus, who has regularly played on the right wing this season.

The club are likely to pursue a new marksman next year, and Tuttosport claims that they could make a winter approach for Vlahovic.

The Serbian has rejected a new deal at La Viola. The Serie A outfit are open to selling him with his contract expiring in June 2023.

They wanted around €70 million for his services over the summer, but could accept a lesser sum at the beginning of the year.

Pep Guardiola's side are keeping tabs on his performances, and could make a formal offer for his services when the transfer window reopens.

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with the 21-year-old earlier this summer, but appear unlikely to move for him unless Kane heads for the exit door.
