Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has opened talks with former club Fluminense, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claims.
The Brazilian joined the Blues on a free transfer last year, and he has since been a consistent performer at the heart of the defence.
His current contract expires at the end of the campaign, and it appears that he could consider a potential return to Brazilian football.
Silva previously said that he could end his career at Fluminense, and talks have been held with them through his representative.
The Blues are likely to propose another contract extension, but the 37-year-old is keeping all options open for next summer.
Chelsea currently have a big contract crisis to solve.
Aside from Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Cesar Azpilicueta have also entered the final year of their respective deals.
They are not close to finalising new contracts. Talks are expected to be held with the trio over the next few weeks to make a breakthrough.
