Diego has revealed his happiness at staying at Werder Bremen for the forseeable future, and has ensured the club's fans he has no desire to leave the club - despite the reported interest of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and AC Milan.

  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • “I am not thinking about leaving Werder. I am very happy here in Bremen and am treated very well here. That is important for a player!"

Barcelona were reportedly ready to make an offer for the Brazilian midfielder and Pep Guardiola has apparently made him a top transfer target. But Diego himself insisted: “I have never spoken to Barcelona."

As for the Arsenal interest, Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on Diego in the hope of finding the perfect replacement for Alexander Hleb, should the Belarussian leave the club.
