Arsenal closing in on Nasri

Arsenal closing in on Nasri

24 May 2008 - 11:23

Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms with Marseille for the signing of talented French midfielder Samir Nasri. Arsene Wenger is believed to have decided to allow Alexander Hleb to leave the club, and has moved quickly to apparently land the Marseille man.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • It is believed that Nasri completed a medical with the Premiership side yesterday, and is just putting the finishing touches to a five year contract at the Gunners.

It is believed Arsenal will have to pay as much as £15 million to land the Frenchman, but many sources are quoting Wenger has agreed an £11 million fee with Marseille.

A Marseille source revealed yesterday: "The deal has been agreed. The medical took place on Wednesday, he agreed to sign on Thursday and the only hold up is that he is with the French squad at the moment."
