Man Utd should sign Osimhen, as per Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand urges Man Utd to sign Nigerian star

07 April 2025 - 21:02

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged the Red Devils to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen at the end of the season.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game

  • The Red Devils have misfired in the final third this campaign and they have netted only 37 goals after 31 Premier League matches.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been hugely disappointing and have netted just six league goals between them this term.

United need an upgrade ahead of next season and speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said that Osimhen would be perfect.

Osimhen is presently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli. He has registered 28 goals and five assists in all competitions for the Turkish outfit.

The Nigerian would face a stiff challenge in the Premier League, but Ferdinand believes he can be United's striker solution.

The former Lille man has a release clause worth €75m in his deal and Napoli are expected to hold out for the same for his exit.

The Italian club could be willing to negotiate a swap deal too. Alejandro Garnacho could be used as a makeweight for Osimhen.

Garnacho was on Napoli's radar at the start of the year.
