AC Milan and former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini and Djibril Cisse have both missed out on Raymond Domenech's 23 man squad. Cisse's place has been taken by Gomis, who impressed on his international debut for France.
The decision comes as a bitter blow for Flamini, who will have hoped his sensational form for Arsenal would have secured him a Euro 2008 spot.
Meanwhile Cisse, linked with a move back to the Premiership, has been in great form for Marseille but misses out after Bafetimbi Gomis grabbed a brace on his international debut against Ecuador.
