Arsenal striker Kai Havertz could be out of action until late December after suffering a relapse during his recovery from a knee injury.
The Germany international sustained the setback in the opening game of the Premier League season and underwent surgery soon after.
He was anticipated to return after the international break, but Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that he won't return until towards the end of the year.
The news is a huge blow for the Gunners, given they are already missing several key forwards with injuries at the current point in time.
Viktor Gyokeres, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Jesus are among attackers who may not feature this month.
All are close to making their returns to training, but manager Mikel Arteta may have to wait until late December for them to hit full fitness.
Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates this weekend. They have suffered another setback with Gabriel Magalhaes sidelined too.
