Mourinhos Maiden Inter Conference

Mourinho's Maiden Inter Conference

03 June 2008 - 14:26

Jose Mourinho has announced his arrival in Italy and gave his maiden press conference as the new coach of Inter Milan on Monday afternoon.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Obviously Mourinho had some very lofty things to say about himself as he announced himself to Italian football. He was confirmed as the new Inter Milan coach on Monday, replacing Roberto Mancini who led Inter to their second successive scudetto conquest in the recently concluded 2007-2008 season.

This is what Mourinho said in his first conference as Inter coach:

"I have arrived at a special club. I think I am a great Coach but I don’t want to be special.

“I am always myself and I don’t change. I am the same person as I ever was and I have that same mission and passion for my work.

“I have always thought that I would like to work in Italy and for a big club and I want to thank Massimo Moratti and Marco Branca for giving me this opportunity.

“This is a very important challenge for me, but I think that it will also be very enjoyable for you.”
