Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Newcastle United, Palmer starts

14 March 2026 - 16:34

Chelsea welcome Newcastle United in today's Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

  • Chelsea winger ruled out of Newcastle game with injury
  • Man Utd lining up move for English midfielder

  • The Blues are currently fifth in the standings with 48 points and can temporarily move to third with a victory over the Magpies.

    Formation: 4-2-3-1

    Predicted Line-up:

Filip Jorgensen is currently the preferred number one ahead of Robert Sanchez. Despite his costly errors against Paris Saint-Germain in Europe, he is likely to continue in goal.

There could be some changes to the backline with the view to the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie. We anticipate Malo Gusto and Jorrel Hato to slot in the full-back positions.

Mamadou Sarr looks likely to partner Trevoh Chalobah in the heart of the backline. Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella could be rested altogether.

In midfield, Moises Caicedo could be accompanied by Andrey Santos. Reece James could be given a breather and could come off the bench.

Enzo Fernandez is a nailed-on starter in the number 10 role. Similarly, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro should start in the right wing and striker positions.

There will be an enforced change on the left wing with Pedro Neto suspended. Alejandro Garnacho is expected to occupy the spot.

Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Newcastle: Jorgensen; Gusto, Sarr, Chalobah, Hato; Santos, Caicedo; Palmer, Fernandez, Garnacho; Pedro.
