Arsenal bag three points

Arsenal bag three points

16 August 2008 - 13:58

Arsenal got their Premiership campaign off to the right start, as they bagged three points at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners defeated West Brom 1-0, thanks to a Samir Nasri goal in the fourth minute.

  • Arsenal will probably argue that they have picked up the three points and that is all that matters; but the display was very ordinary from the Gunners.

The statistics paint a clear picture, the Gunners did dominate proceedings and peppered the WBA goal with shots throughout.

Emmanuel Eboue and Emmanuel Adebayor were at times guilty of being a little greedy, whilst Samir Nasri showed he could be the perfect replacement for Aliaksander Hleb who left for Barcelona in the summer.

Nasri turned out to be the match winner for the Gunners, to give Arsenal the right start to the new season.
