Wigan to sign Kris Commons

13 May 2009 - 15:57

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is reportedly interested in signing Scotland international Kris Commons. The 25-year old winger might be in the Premier League next season if the deal happens.

  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • Steve Bruce is keen to bring the attacker to the JJB and is willing to pay the asking rate of £5m. He had tried to land the player in the January transfer window, but, failed to to do so.

Commons had been in good form this season scoring 7 goals in 34 matches for Derby . They signed him from Nottingham Forest in 2008 as a free transfer. The Derby boss, Nigel Clough, seems to be reluctant to let him go, the staggering £5m asking rate explains it.

Derby are set to sell a few other players including Jordan Stewart, Mile Sterjovski, Ruben Zadkovich and Martin Albrechtsen.
