Arsenal bid for Shay Given?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may be set to finally resolve his goalkeeping crisis with a bid for Man City's out of favour goalkeeper Shay Given in January. Stories suggest that the Gunners will bid 5m GBP to bring the Irishman to the Emirates.

Joe Hart has taken Given's number 1 shirt at City; leaving Given out in the cold and anxious to find first team football elsewhere.



Arsenal have always relied on backup goalkeepers to come through and take the number 1 jersey; such as Jens Lehmann and now Lukasz Fabianski. However, Wenger has reportedly admitted that if Given is available at a cheap price, he will make a move for the Irish international shot stopper.
