Axel Witsel joins Benfica

Highly rated midfielder Axel Witsel has agreed a 8m GBP transfer from Standard Liege to Benfica. The midfielder is regarded as one of the hottest properties in Belgian football.

Witsel had previously been linked with a move to Arsenal and Man City, but has opted to move to Portugal instead.

Witsel has 19 appearances for the Belgium national team.
