Tottenham confirm Modric not for sale
Tottenham have announced that Luka Modric will spend this season at White Hart Lane, after announcing that the Croatian will not be sold this summer.
Modric had been pushing for a move to Chelsea all summer, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has seemingly won the battle to keep Modric; after Spurs announced the player would be staying this season. Chelsea have today completed a move for Juan Mata instead.
Spurs' approach has questioned whether or not Modric will remain loyal to the club, and Redknapp has said: "That's the risk you run. We can all sit here and say 'he'll be all right', but we don't know what is in his head. Who knows? None of us know how he is going to feel.
"Maybe you would get three or four players in that would make you a better team. I don't want to lose him, but if he really had his mind made up and he wasn't going to be happy, sometimes you are better off it gives you a chance to build a stronger team."
