Man City still after van Persie
Man City still after van Persie
A report in The Guardian claims that despite assurances from Arsene Wenger earlier, Manchester City are planning to replace the outbound Carlos Tevez with Arsenal hitman Robin van Persie.
Tevez has been at the receiving end of a lot of stick from his manager, fans and pundits alike after refusing to come on as a substitute in City's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, a game which they lost 2-0.
This has led to the club suspending him for two weeks and looking for alternatives to keep him away till the January transfer window.
Tevez has been vocal about how he wants to leave the club for family reasons, and the City hierarchy see van Persie as a perfect replacement.
Persie currently has a deal till 2013, but recently revealed that he had put contract talks on hold. A potential deal for the Dutch striker could cost around £20 million.
