West Ham may extend Almunia loan
West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has admitted that the club could extend Manuel Almunia's loan depending on the fitness of first choice keeper Robert Green.
Almunia joined the Hammers on an emergency one month loan after Robert Green sustained a knee injury which will keep him out for six weeks.
Almunia was the fourth choice keeper at Arsenal after falling down the pecking order in recent years. He is scheduled to return at the end of October, but Allardyce claims that he will take a call based on Robert Green's fitness.
Allardyce said: "We can extend it depending on how the situation with Robert lies in terms of his injury.
"There is always the possibility that Arsenal run into a bit of a goalkeeping crisis and there is an emergency call-back even this month."
