Pablo Zabaleta signs new Man City deal

Manchester City full back Pablo Zabaleta has agreed terms on a new contract that will see the defender stay at the Etihad Stadium until 2015. Zabaleta had been linked with a move to Spain, with Villarreal amongst the teams interested.

"I'm in a very good team, and I try to do my best for the club, the team and the fans.


"I didn't think twice, I gave a quick answer because I was so happy to sign," said Zabaleta.


The Argentine 26 year old signed in 2008 from Espanyol and is an important member of the first team for Roberto Mancini, the Italian who told his club advisers to agree a deal with the full back as quickly as possible.
