Preview: Wigan vs Arsenal

Six wins in their last eight games helped push Arsenal up into 7th in the league. A draw at the Emirates against Fulham stalled their progress, and now Wigan is next stop for Arsene Wenger's recovering team. Wigan on the other hand enjoyed success last weekend against Sunderland, and are looking to build on those precious three points.
Matches between Wigan and Arsenal at the JJB always tend to be exciting affairs, full of drama and late goals. Neutral fans will be hoping for more of the same from today's game.
Arsenal's midweek defeat to Man City dumped them out of the Carling Cup, and now Arsenal manager Wenger is likely to recall many of his rested stars for the visit to Wigan.
It's been three years since the Gunners have won at Wigan, though, as last year's battle only earned Arsenal a point, and the year before that the Latics condemned Wenger's men to defeat.
Roberto Martinez must ensure his team has their shooting boots on today if they are too win a share of the spoils. With just 12 goals in 13 games in the league this season, they have the unfortunate recognition of being the lowest scoring team in the Premier League.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have the Premiership's top scorer in Robin van Persie, who is expected to start today.
TEAMS
Antolin Alcaraz will be missing through suspension, and for Arsenal Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky are sure to miss out with injuries.
EYEFOOTBALL PREDICTION
Wigan 0-2 Arsenal
FIRST GOALSCORER
