Chelsea linked with Cristiano Ronaldo move

Chelsea have been linked with a sensational mega money move for Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese winger quit Manchester United in 2009 for Spain, and the Daily Telegraph reported yesterday that the Blues were preparing an £80 million move for the 27-year-old.

Ronaldo has scored 45 goals in 42 games so far this year, adding to his 53 goals in 54 games last season. Roman Abramovich is concerned at Chelsea's perceived lack of goals this year, despite an attacking lineup that boasts Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge.

The Daily Telegraph suggests that Cristiano Ronaldo would be keen on a return to England, and to be come the highest paid player in global football earning a reported £250,000 per week.
