Butland in Fergie's radar
Man United is plotting to sign Birmingham's young goalkeeper Jack Butland to replace the Spanish flop David De Gea. The youngster is currently on loan at Cheltenham and is reportedly watched by many clubs including Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham.
Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly enquired Birmingham for a possible transfer of the £3m rated youngster in the summer. United's goalkeeping coach Eric Steele visited Cheltenham to check on Butland's performance.
He was impeccable in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup letting in only one goal in four matches. Unfortunately, the English squad failed to score in any of the matches and lost to Nigeria in the Round of 16. Butland impressed for Cheltenham in his first loan spell with seven clean sheets in 12 matches.
Birmingham manager, Chris Houghton, declared that he would sell Butland for the right offer.
