Newcastle could sign Bent from Aston Villa

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has sounded out Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert regarding the future of striker Darren Bent. The England international reportedly wants to move in order to secure more first team football.

The 29-year-old has reached the age of his career where he needs to be playing week in, week out, at Villa it appears that Christian Benteke has stolen all of the headlines in recent months.


Newcastle are preparing a £13 million offer to bring Bent to St James' Park in the summer, but only if they are able to offload Andy Carroll.
