Man Utd close in on Ezequiel Garay transfer
Benfica centre back Ezequiel Garay has apparently agreed to make a move to Manchester United this summer. The Argentina international will put pen to paper on a four year contract at Old Trafford.
Since arriving at Benfica in 2011, Garay has gone on to be a first team regular for the Portuguese giants playing in over 50 games for his side. Garay has long been linked with a move away from Benfica, though, and Man Utd were linked with him over a year ago.
A deal looks set to be completed sometime this week, as Man Utd's share price reportedly dropped over night with speculation of Garay's impending transfer.
The 6 foot 4 26-year-old defender - who is very highly rated - has been mooted as a possible future replacement for England defender Rio Ferdinand once he decides to retire.
Garay will become new United manager David Moyes' second transfer since moving from Everton, to link up with fellow South American full back Guillermo Varela at United.
