PSG hope to sign Bale with a record offer of £85m

French champions Paris Saint-Germain have taken a step ahead of other clubs in the race for Gareth Bale by stepping up the bid to a whopping 85 million pounds.

The bid is being looked upon as PSG's desperate attempt to land the Tottenham attacker on their side. PSG are also trying to lure in Andre Villa-Boas to the French capital this season, following the confirmation of Ancelloti's club exit for Real Madrid. Although, AVB has once turned down their approach, PSG seem intent on hiring his services for the next season.

In their efforts to get AVB to PSG, the club has also made efforts to capture Chelsea defender - David Luiz - for the next season. Villas-Boas seems all set now to take the baton from Ancelloti, reports suggest, after PSG are understood to have spoken to his agent - Carlos Gonclaves.

Boas has had a tremendous time with Tottenham. He is still the youngest coach to have won a European title. Even though the Spurs missed a Champions League place, their league total and other key factors like the progress of Gareth Bale are a perfect testimonial to the coach in-demand.

In Bale's words, “He has helped me in all aspects of my game. He is a young manager and he has got a great past at Porto. Maybe not so much at Chelsea but given time, like he has been this season, he has shown what a good manager he is. It has been a very exciting time for the club"
