Man Utd join race for Brazilian full back Marquinhos
Manchester United are the newest side to have shown an interest in Roma defender Marquinhos. The 19-year-old, who is comfortable playing at right back or at centre back, impressed since joining Roma from Corinthians last year.
The young Brazilian is also being monitored by Barcelona, who have yet to make a proper move into the transfer market this summer. The defender is valued by the Italian club at approximately 8 million Euros.
At Roma, Marquinhos as generally been deployed as a centre back, and that is apparently where David Moyes sees Marquinhos' future at Man Utd as well. The Red Devils have been scouring Europe for a long term successor to Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, who are both likely to play less of a role in United's first team this coming season.
