Jovetic eyeing Premier League move
Manchester City who are known as the noisy Citizens of Manchester are unlikely to face any competiton from elsewhere in Italy in the signing of Stevan Jovetic from Serie A club Fiorentina after Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis expressed the fact that the Fiorentina forward has set his sights on a Premier League switch.
The new Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is looking to bolster his strike-force after the departures of Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez earlier this calendar year.
Sevilla star Alvaro Negredo is set to sign for the Sky Blues, while speculation linking the Montenegrin International Jovetic with Manchester City has increased in recent days. Napoli and Juventus were among the Serie A sides in the race for his signature but it has now evolved that he will only consider a move to England.
"Jovetic's agent told me a year ago that the boy only aspired to go to England," De Laurentiis said. Manchester City may have to fight off interest from their Premier League rivals though, in the form of Chelsea and Arsenal who are long-term admirers of the 23-year-old.
