Real Madrid set to sign Gareth Bale

Real Madrid are set to sign Tottenham Hotspurs' Welsh international midfielder Gareth Bale for a reported fee of £93m plus Fabio Coentrao, according to some reports. This would mean breaking the world record transfer fee.

Real Madrid have reportedly left the number 11 shirt vacant amidst a wave of rumours linking them to the players for most of the summer, and now appear to have finally aqcuired their target man. 


Bale can play anywhere on the left side of the pitch, and has made 146 league appearances for Spurs in 5 seasons since signing from Southampton in 2007 for £7m. He scored 42 goals in the process, 26 of which were last season.
