Newcastle in race to sign 10m rated Thauvin

Newcastle have made an enquiry for French midfielder Florian Thauvin. The Lille star, who joined the French club only back in January, is believed to be valued at around 14 million Euros.

The French under-20 international is being lined up by Alan Pardew's side should Yohan Cabaye decide to swap the Toon for a move to Arsenal. Thauvin has previously been linked with the Gunners. The youngster, who is comfortable playing anywhere in midfield, is very highly rated by Lille and the club are despereate to keep hold of the 20-year-old.


Newcastle will make an enquiry this weekend and are hopeful a deal can be agreed before the end of the transfer window.
