Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio to take part in Steve Harper's testimonial match

Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio will play in Steve Harper's testimonial match at St.James Park on Wednesday.

To appreciate Harper's 20 years of service for Newcastle United, which came to an end when he joined Hull City Tigers this summer, he will be honoured by an all-star team facing off against AC Milan at St James' Park.

The all star squad will feature the likes of Alan Shearer, Andy Cole, Les Ferdinand, Faustino Asprilla and Joey Barton in the line-up.

Di Canio was selected as a late addition to the AC Milan squad, which includes Rossoneri legends in Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Costacurta, Zvonimir Boban and Franco Baresi.

All proceeds coming from the game will be split between the Great North Children's Foundation, the Newcastle United Foundation and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
