Arsenal star Lukas Podolski desperate for first team action

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski is desperate to get fit in time to play first team football for the Gunners.

The German International suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal's Champions League play-off encounter against Fenerbahce in August, and has been in the sidelines since then.The injury could't have come at the worst time as the former Bayern striker had just hit form with the North London outfit.


Since then, an injury to Theo Walcott has meant that Olivier Giroud has been operating on his own as the main striker with no reliable back-up option available.

Podolski could be set for a return in late October, as the forward has insisted that he is having intense workout sessions in order to make a comeback to the Gunners as soon as possible.
