West Ham United plotting move for Andre-Pierre Gignac

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly considering making a bid for Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac during the winter transfer window, as the club try to solve the striker crisis.

Allardyce has long been in the search for a new striker, with a long-term injury to Andy Carroll, leaving him to opt for the decent pairing of Modibo Maiga and Mladen Petric for the striker's role.

The Mirror claims that the French International is among the 20-name transfer shortlist which the Hammers manager has made, with the club's scouts have a close watch at the players before the resumption of the transfer window in January.

The 27-year-old striker has notched up 6 goals in 12 appearances for the club this season.
