RVP injured until the New Year

Manchester United's star striker Robin van Persie is set to be sidelined for about a month with a thigh injury, according to manager David Moyes.

The Netherlands international suffered the injury when he took the corner which led to the winning goal from Phil Jones in the club's 1-0 victory over Ukrainian outfit Shakther Donetsk in the midweek clash in the Champions League.

Moyes has revealed that his star striker will be out until the New Year.

"Robin van Persie is out as well for a month," He said. "He picked up a thigh strain in taking a corner kick which led to the goal.

"It's unfortunate because I think if you look at our record with Wayne Rooney and Robin in the team, it is actually very good and we have not had them for quite a period recently."

Van Persie who has been hampered by minor injuries this season, has amassed 10 goals for Red Devils in all competitions.
