Man City tracking Ajax shot-stopper Kenneth Vermeer
Manchester City are understood to be monitoring transfer situation of Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer, with a view of making a January bid for the player, according to The Metro.
The Citizens manager Manuel Pellegrini is in the search for a new shot-stopper, having seen current number one Joe Hart have a couple of blunders this season, which has forced him to use back-up goalie Costel Pantilimon for the last few games.
The 27-year-old Netherlands International has revealed that he will make a switch away from Ajax, having failed to feature in the club's first-team since October.
“I need to playing and I’m not doing that at Ajax,” He said. “I have other options and will discuss them with my agent in January. You never know what is around the corner in football.”
Vermeer has been displaced by manager Frank de Boer to play for reserve side Jong Ajax.
