Arsenal poised to make their first signing this week?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is understood to be readying a big-money deal to sign one of Europe's top-class talents in the next few days.

The Gunners have lacked consistency up-front in the striking department in recent weeks, following injuries to the likes of Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott, with the latter set to be ruled out for the season.


Latest reports suggest that manager Arsene Wenger is likely to make a move to sign a top-class forward in a couple of days' time, as the Frenchman is keen on keeping the club upfloat with Chelsea and Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title this season.


It will be interesting to see who the Gunners' boss chooses to sign during the winter transfer window, as he aims to help the club end its 8-year trophy drought.
