Chelsea agree deal to sign Basel's Mohamed Salah
Chelsea have revealed that the club have a agreed a transfer offer to sign Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah from FC Basel in the winter transfer window.
The talented Egyptian international was linked with a move to the Premier League with Liverpool since the start of the winter, but reports have emerged overnight claiming that the Blues have made an offer worth £11m for the player's services.
It is believed that the Reds were unwilling to match a fee close to Basel's asking price of £12m.
A statement in Chelsea's official website revealed the transfer agreement, It read : "The move is subject to the Egyptian international agreeing personal terms and completing a medical examination."
Juan Mata's departure to Manchester United has been put on hold until the West London outfit receive assurances that Salah would sign for them.
