Arsenal plot surprise move for Ashley Cole in the summer?

Arsenal are reportedly considered to be preparing a sensational move to sign former left-back Ashley Cole at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old, who began his career with Arsenal made the switch to West London with Chelsea on a swap deal with William Gallas heading the other way in 2006.

However, Cole has had a frustrating season under manager Jose Mourinho, having fallen down the pecking order with Azpilicueta given the starting role in many games and this could tempt him in leaving the Blues during the summer.

The Daily Mail reports that the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is still a huge fan of the talented defender, and will make a move for the player in the summer, as the Frenchman is keen on signing an experienced left-back.

Ashley Cole made 228 appearances for the Gunners between 1999-2006.
