Arsenal set to make bid for Bayer Leverkusen star?

Arsenal are reportedly set to make a formal offer for Bayer Leverkusen midfield sensation Lars Bender during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is keen on making a couple of top-class signings for the next season, and is likely to make a bid to sign the talented German international in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the North London outfit are considering options to replace veteran midfielder Mikel Arteta and are also keeping an eye on the likes of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin and Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan.

Arsenal are currently 2nd in the Premier League standings, a point adrift of leaders Chelsea.
